Lana Rymareva

Lana Rymareva graduated from the Mussorgsky College of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia and worked as a piano teacher in music schools. The last few years before she moved to the U.S. she worked as an expert on educational music programs at the St. Petersburg Cultural Foundation. In the U.S. she resumed teaching in a private studio, became a member of MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) and has fifteen years of teaching experience in California.

In her teaching practice, Lana builds on the fundamental principles of the Russian piano school, and has also incorporated some of the best practices of other piano methods that she has learned in the United States. This allows her to be flexible and creative when working with each student and helps musicality and technical skills grow.

Lana uses a comprehensive approach that organically involves knowledge of harmony, musical forms and music history. Along with the importance of building strong basic skills from the very beginning, she sees her goal as a teacher to develop in students understanding and appreciation of music.
