Tatyana Duvanenko
Tatyana Duvanenko has over 30 years experience in teaching classical piano. She graduated from Belarus State Pedagogical University with majors in piano performance and conducting. During her career in Minsk, Belarus, Tatyana held important positions as a piano department head in two leading music schools. She wrote articles on piano pedagogy that won awards at state competitions. Tatyana received the highest honor award from the Soviet Union’s Department of Education in recognition of her dedication and hard work.
In 2001, Tatyana’s family emigrated to the USA. Upon arriving to San Jose, she immediately started teaching at Polonsky Piano School where she worked until 2007. After her successful career at the piano school, she continued to teach piano privately. Numerous students of Tatyana have won awards and competition prizes. She is also a member of Music Teachers’ Association of California and an active participant of the Certificate of Merit Program. In her teachings, Tatyana uses a comprehensive approach that involves short-term and long-term pedagogical goals, excellent understanding of a composition’s style and strong technical foundation based on principles of natural playing. She develops cognitive abilities and innate musicality in each student. Tatyana possesses an easy-going personality combined with a love for music and children.
